Placing a piece scores a point per cell; clearing a row or column adds a bonus on top. Clear more than one line in the same move and you get an escalating "Nice! / Great! / Amazing! / Perfect!" label, and clearing lines on back-to-back placements builds a combo multiplier that pays out more the longer the streak runs.
Tray Rules
You're dealt 3 pieces at a time, and a fresh set of 3 is only dealt once all three current ones have been placed -- not one at a time, matching how real Block Blast-style games deal pieces. The game also checks the board before dealing a new set so you're not handed an immediately unplayable trio, and leans toward smaller pieces once the board is more than about 55% full.
